Dear Cecelia,

I am worried, I am scared, but I am also hopeful. I hope that humanity has done all it can to slow down global warming and fight climate change for the point of where you’re standing today. I hope that your family and your parents have done everything they could to inform you about the state of our world. I hope they taught you about the importance of justice for all, and the importance of all humans and their role in saving the earth. I promise I will do everything that I can to make this Earth better for you and your future.

More Messages to the Future

Vitória,

Antes de realizar qualquer ação pense no meio ambiente para que suas atitudes sejam pautadas na sustentabilidade. Assim o seu pensar e agir localmente poderão resvalar na escala global.

Dear tomorrow,

If there’s one thing young people have learned while quarantining, it’s that Gen Z holds so much power and is capable of a lot more than we think. We’ve created a community that has united us all and started to bring about change for the good of our futures. Now, with the help of Gen Z (and of course, people of all ages), we have the power to save our home, the Earth.

My grandchildren,

I promise to do my very best to educate your parents as best I can.

Dear Nova and Remi,

I wish for you both that another kind of life has been discovered, one of peace, moderation and concern for all life.

Dear Students,

My act of love will be to use all the power I have, during the rest of my life, to stop climate change.

Dear Jack,

Right now you are only a little over 5 weeks old, but you have truly changed my whole world. Your Mom and I always say that we thought we loved before you were born, but now that you have come into the world and we met you, our ability to love just expanded exponentially.

Dear Elliott,

We’re moving into uncertain times, and your dad and I worry. A lot. But you’re keeping us going. You’re pushing us to make better choices and not give up.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to drive less and walk more.

To my Kids,

I wish you all the best and always make sure that you can be proud of yourself and don’t need status-symbols for feeling nice.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to put in a rain catcher tank.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to ride a bike and take a smart train.

I won’t leave my lights on.
