Dear Alyssa and Johnny,

Hello little cousins. I hope everything is okay. As of now it does not look like everything will be okay. We are consuming fossil fuels at alarming rates, the streets sometimes look more like dumpsters than a place to walk, and people seem to care more about the green in their pockets rather than the green on the trees. Little do they know the green in their pockets will mean nothing once the green on the earth is no more. I am putting my whole future career into trying to help keep the earth healthy for future generations like you guys. I hope throughout the years I will be able to help you guys learn to appreciate the natural world around you and I know your mom will help teach you as well. There is so much beauty in national parks and green spaces that I got to experience growing up and now I hope those will all still be there for you guys when you are a little bit older. I hope my personal goals of diving in the great barrier reef and studying in the tropical rain forests will have come true, and I hope you guys will still be able to make similar goals.
