To my future self,

If you are reading this, this means that it has been 30 years after the time when I wrote this letter. I hope by the time it reaches 2050, our world and environment has changed completely – in a good way where fresh air and renewable energy sources cover the masses of our world. I will try my best to create a world for my future self where clean air and renewable energy will be a resource for our electricity. Not just for myself, but also for all those out there who believe in the destruction of global warming and climate change. I will pursue my effort to reduce as much natural gas and electricity used during my time and try my best to maintain a better world for you. I will continue to advocate with the politicians and scientists who believe that global warming is real and will be an imminent danger to us in the near future. Hopefully, politicians will swap their views on global warming and climate change onto of a more radical approach so that we can resolve the problem of global warming and climate change effectively. If the world still has not changed from the time I wrote this letter, then I hope for the change as soon as possible. The Earth may not hold on for too long and we need to act upon this matter of urgency.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Ryan,

I hope that you start doing things that will help the world.

Dear Madeleine,

First of all I hope we succeeded in our dream that yours is a better world than the world of 2021. Today, the forests are burning, the sea levels are rising and wild weather is everywhere. But we are working hard and I’m confident we will succeed.

Dear Future

My hope is for all who live in your time to still know the joy of swimming in the ocean, walking through the woods, and hiking in the mountains.

To the future generations,

I hope that you all can enjoy the Smokey Mountains in your lifetime too and that they look how they did back in 2017 when I saw them.

Dear… Parents,

Let us teach our children to volunteer and donate.

Dear Beloved Children,

As time progresses, there is hope that value will be placed on all living organisms, including humans, plants, and animals. Life will move at a slower pace, and being on your own time and moving at your individual pace will be the typical way of life. I consider this way of life good living, and I hope that future generations will live on this earth as it was once intended to live in peace and harmony.

Dear tomorrow,

Unfortunately, our selfishness and excessive greed have closed our eyes to the well-being of the planet, and it has suffered the consequences.

Dear future generations,

Past generations took all the trees, polluted all the water, fished all the fish, and hunted all the animals so that there’s almost nothing nice left.

Queridas filhas Ana Luísa e Ana Carla,

Que vocês possam contar para seus filhos e netos que minha geração tomou consciência de sua responsabilidade e assumiu sua condição de natureza e a ela se reintegrou, com inteligência, interação respeitosa e solidariedade.

Dear Tara,

Each of us only has so much power and the problem is HUGE, but I worked at this every day.

Dear June and Colin,

I’m sad and angry that collectively more has not been done to this date. And that still with such dire warnings, obvious impacts, those in power are acting far too slowly.

Querida Emanoely,

Gostaria que você se lembrasse das lições simples que mamãe e papai te ensinou, como cuidar das plantas e dos espaços coletivos.
