My future husband,

If I’m married to my current love, Marko, I hope I will have acknowledged the climate change in 30 years time as I did this winter of 2017 in India, in the most dirty and dusty places, most lovely jungles and breathtaking landscapes. I want us to read this in future time and remember all the senses and views we witnessed and fell in love with that might disappear due to this awful climate change. As I hope our love never vanishes I really hope and believe in the people of India that one day in 2050 when we come back nature will be the same or even better (bigger, wider and more powerful). Love you MARKO.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Finley,

I wonder if in 2050 we will be looking at a future where fear from the changes at hand has caused people to hate rather than love and provide hope. Perhaps in that world we will we no longer comprehend the biblical texts in a meaningful way. Will climate change be the end of the epoch of God?

Dear Gabriel,

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” – The Lorax

Chers Enfants,

Chers Enfants,

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise composting in my house and getting an EV for my first car.

To My Future Children,

Most importantly, I hope you live in a world where science is taken seriously and fact is clearly distinguished from fiction.

Dear World,

The environment is important – take care of your actions to not destroy it starting from now.

Dear Rowan and Anaka,

If we could talk, I would not be able to bear your gaze as you ask: How could you, the people in a position to change the course of climate change, fail to act?

Dear Tomorrow,

Be the person who shows up. Be the person who continues to advocate for change because change is possible – it is possible in the most partisan of politics.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to purchase carbon offsets when we fly.

Dear Valentina & Luis,

You both know I have made it my mission to get people to understand more about the state of our planet‘s climate and what was at stake.

Dear friends,

We need to rethink our consumption habits in order to reduce the impacts on the environment.

Dear Tomorrow and Dearest Lex,

I do believe that the collective power of everyone’s best efforts can curb the worst effects of climate change, and provide you with a more stable and secure future.
