Dear Michael in the future,

Dear me of tomorrow. The wildfires today kills plants and trees and that creates less oxygen and that is bad for the environment. Also, it creates more CO2 and that traps more heat in the atmosphere and then global warming starts and it then that makes more wildfires and also it will melt more ice caps and then less heat will bounce back into space and then more heat won’t even be able to escape and it will repeat forever. If we don’t try to use fewer fossil fuels, we will end the earth and everything on it. I will make sure to make myself use renewable energy instead of fossil fuels so I can help the earth.

Sincerely.

More Messages to the Future

Dear grandchild,

There is a place on this planet called the Amazon, and I don’t mean the online shopping site (is that still a thing in your time?).

Dear Tomorrow

Colin

To my dear son Zac,

I promise to raise you as a loving-nature human.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to contact my local officials on passing measures against climate change

For those who come after us,

This is for the countless children I already see suffering the impact of climate change around the world, and the generations to follow.

To my brother’s children,

We wondered about how we might be able to eliminate plastics from our day to day routines, and recycled literally everything. We were amazing, you should have seen us. Now and again though, we wondered if these were the right questions.

Pour ma famille,

Il faut trouver le 7ème sens et se battre pour des causes justes, comme l´amour et la liberté.

Dear tomorrow,

If there’s one thing young people have learned while quarantining, it’s that Gen Z holds so much power and is capable of a lot more than we think. We’ve created a community that has united us all and started to bring about change for the good of our futures. Now, with the help of Gen Z (and of course, people of all ages), we have the power to save our home, the Earth.

Dear Students,

My act of love will be to use all the power I have, during the rest of my life, to stop climate change.

Dear Future Grandchild,

We can learn a lot about how to treat others from stories that have been passed from generation to generation.

Dear Future,

We need to work to save our beautiful home.

Dear Kai and Leah,

I want you to feel awestruck like I do. It is important to feel small sometimes, to feel the weight of reality, to recognize the scale of a challenge, to see where you fit and what you are up against. This is the case with climate change.
