If we don’t stop cutting down trees for agriculture and to build houses then the future generations will not think about trees when they hear the word Earth.

Dear future me,

When someone says the word Earth what comes to mind? I think about water, people, and trees. In the year 2050, 50% of the trees on Earth will be cut down due to deforestation. If we don’t stop cutting down trees for agriculture and to build houses then the future generations will not think about trees when they hear the word Earth. In fact, the rainforest could complete disappearing in 100 years. The rainforests are home to 40,000 plant species and 427 mammals. If we cut down the rainforest this plant and animals might go extinct.

The main reason we are cutting down trees is to provide more room for plants and livestock. A way to fix this problem is to eat less meat or become a vegetarian. Becoming vegetarian cuts your carbon footprint by almost half. We also cut down the forest to provide paper. A way we can reduce our usage of paper is to use white boards. If you have solar panels it is always better to use computers. Planting more trees can level out the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.
