Dear Future Generations,

I have live in the city my whole life and I would not think of living in anywhere else. However, when stress gets a little too much to handle, a walk in the park or just taking a trip to the lake calms me down and makes me feel peaceful again. I don’t know what the future will hold but I am hopeful that the future generations can experience these moments as well.

As of now, severe weather has sprung up in various of locations. There is lava coming out of Hawaii. There are more hurricane occurrences that wipe out cities like it was nothing. It is currently the end of May and we still have cold weather. The actions we are taking right now is not benefiting the world or our own society. For a long time, people are listening about these environmental issues but little have made effort to act to fix these issues. We must make sacrifices now to benefit in the long run. For those in the future generation, I hope the actions we are taking now is helping you in your time and I hope you continue the pattern to help your children as well. I promise to never stop doing what I can to help save the environment in whatever way I can.

Dear Tomorrow,

This is just the beginning. It’s the accrual of little seeds of change that will lead to the tree of revolution.

Dear Children,

I wish I had a crystal ball and could peep into it to see you all happy and safe in a world that nourishes you and that is also nourished by you, a world where the resources it provides are as valued as the people in it and not frittered away by greed and power.

Dear Finn and Cy,

I think a lot about what you might be like when you grow up and about what kind of world you will live in.

Dear My Future Child,

I want to sculpt a world for you where you can play outside without gas masks, an ocean to swim in without toxins, and a thick lively forest for you to wander.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will do whatever I can to protect and preserve mother Earth for future generations.

To my dear children in the year 2050,

I don’t wish to go backwards, but I do wish we would slow down and design our brave new world with more care.

Dear Sadie,

You are young and have a rich future ahead of you. I am retired and aiming for a high quality of cultural life and comfort with whatever time remains to me. I do not want to see a world whose elders sacrifice your future for their short-term needs and personal gain. So it’s up to you and me to speak out.

Dear Levon,

I hope, as your father, I’ve done enough to instill within you how science is a wonderful adventure.
