Dear Future Child,

My parents showed me so many wonders of mother earth growing up. I will always cherish my childhood memories gardening with my mom and dad. As a young child I would always look forward to cleaning the garden with my father. We would always find the something new in the garden whether it be creatures or objects. He made it such an adventure. My mom made so many wonderful dishes with the fruits and vegetables from our garden.

Mother earth is about offer us all that we need to survive. I hope to see people live sustainably and treat it just like their own mother. Please care. Give her the love and care that she needs. This can be achieved in many ways by adapting small changes to everyday living which reduce waste. This can be done by using solar energy, electric cars, recycling, and doing other activities to reduce waste.

I promise to leave earth better than I found it by eliminating my waste. I will achieve this by not using plastic bags, having a compost at home, saving water, and eliminating my energy intake. I also plan to bring as much awareness as possible by spreading the word on ways in which we can save the earth.

More Messages to the Future

Queridas filhas Ana Luísa e Ana Carla,

Que vocês possam contar para seus filhos e netos que minha geração tomou consciência de sua responsabilidade e assumiu sua condição de natureza e a ela se reintegrou, com inteligência, interação respeitosa e solidariedade.

Dear Valentina & Luis,

You both know I have made it my mission to get people to understand more about the state of our planet‘s climate and what was at stake.

To my child,

For the pale blue dot we live on, a precious beauty, I try to help.

To what we’ve overcome.

The first step would be in overcoming ourselves. Because whether we end up fading into obscurity, or thriving in prosperity, we will overcome ourselves.

Dear kids of America,

Please eliminate plastic everything

My dear Honeys,

I think every parent believes that their child’s future is worth protecting – because I know the power of this force in me and what I am willing to do.

My Mini & Lou,

Since I first sat down with these words, a pandemic has erupted. Racial violence is reaching a fever pitch and protests are raging across the nation. It feels like the planet is succumbing to entropy, slipping further into chaos. But I write to you from a time of shifting tides.

Dear future loved ones,

As I sit here and write to you, I’d like to share with you something more horrifying than a few boos – our current home, Earth.

To our future generations,

I want you to know that some of us do care and we are working towards a better future for you.

To My Friends, Family and Future Grandchildren,

I realize my reflection of the past, current and future state of the environment paints a grim and pessimistic picture, but I feel optimistic in our ability to turn planet Earth’s fate around if we all work together and commit to making a change.

Querida Tainah,

Quero que você beba água pura, coma alimentos sem agrotóxicos e que sua casinha branca com varanda, seja voltada para o leste, onde o sol vai nascer.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to never use a plastic straw.
