To my future children and grandchildren,

Today it was 70 in New England on October 26th 2017 where by now people should be bundled up for the normal fall temperatures. That isn’t happening anymore sadly – As you can see the world has evolved and changed so much based off everyone’s involvement in some way. I want you to know climate change has been an overall concern back in my good days as well but I made the change to help focus and preserve our world for the sake of future generations. Staying green with energy and resources is something we need to do everyday to conserve our world. Change how you use resources, change how people act, change how people look at renewable safe energy and preserving resources, and change how you think just like I did.  Without this and carelessly burning harmful fuels to run things we are constantly destroying the planet you are born to love and without this will soon become inhabitable for anyone or any living organism. You can step up and make the change like me and be a hero for the next generations after you and make that difference and show everyone that climate change is real and scary and we need to act now. I know you can do it – because I did.

Sincerely,

– Tylar

More Messages to the Future

Dear Me of Tomorrow,

I plan to plant more things this spring, as we do every year in our garden.

Dear little one,

In the coming months, we plan to complete a full assessment of our environmental impact online. We hope to discover our biggest areas of resource consumption, learn what we can do better, and create an action plan to improve over the next year.

To my daughter and son,

Surrounded by scientists who shared my fears and visions, I often had a hard time to accept that outside our small community climate change received marginal attention.

My Dear Grandchildren,

In writing this letter to you, I am searching for ways to make my connection and commitment to you more present in my current experience

Dear Tomorrow,

My climate promise is to use a refillable bottle, bring my own resusable spoon/form wherever I go, use clean personal care products (without chemicals).

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I’ll replace our lights with LED lights.

Dear Matthew, Sam, and Sophie,

There is a promise in the Bible: ‘I shall restore the years that the locusts have eaten’ and that points to a promise of complete healing and restoration. But until that comes I intend to do my best to ‘save the planet’ in whatever way I can, and I encourage you to do the same.

Dear 2050,

Our planet is crazy. I pledge to be an innovator to make sustainable living real.

Dear Valentina & Luis,

You both know I have made it my mission to get people to understand more about the state of our planet‘s climate and what was at stake.

To My Future Children,

I hope by 2050, our society has taken initiative to be producing energy solely through renewable sources.

To My Future Self,

This lead me to my final project, which focused on reforming the education system to incorporate sustainability classes into the current curriculum.
