To my future children,

I am currently 20 years old, and if there is one thing I could tell you to prepare you for the future it would be this: do not let other opinions change who you are or stop you from being successful at whatever it is that you want to do. Donald Trump was elected into the presidency at the beginning of this year, and policies will soon be rapidly changing forcing our country to adjust. Through all this change, we must remember that we still live in a democracy, our words do matter, and it is so important to stand up and support what you believe in. At this point in my life I am an environmental science student and I am hoping to aid in the process of developing a more sustainable future. To show my support for the climate change movement by marching in the Peoples Climate March in Chicago on April 29th. That day was especially significant because it marked Trump’s 100th day in office and supporters swarmed the streets to fight for justice for climate change. Not only that, but it was the first time that I truly felt empowered and united as a group and that there really is hope for change. By writing this letter, I hope to encourage you to just get involved whatever it may be, it is important for your voice to be heard. I promise to fight for a sustainable, equal future, and I hope you will follow my lead.

More Messages to the Future

Hello spawn,

I am small now littles and I may be small forever but in my small ways I will fight for you.

Dear future me,

I am 19 years old, and I am angry.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to go DEEP GREEN

To my Dad,

I hope on this Father’s Day, my 24th birthday, and the rest of days, we remember that the most basic part of life is living happy with the ones we love. Acting every day against climate change will allow us to keep that simple piece of humanity.

Dear future 82-year old me,

29 years later, I wish I still can ride bike and go some lovely places in nature. Sky is blue and air is fresh, I will be shining under the sun.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to live a car-free lifestyle.

Dear Daughter,

I want you to be prepared for the world that the generations before you are creating for you. I love you Lucienne, and I will not give up. I will push you and teach you not to give up, either, even if others around you do.

Dear Makena,

Sweetie, you deserve clean air, water and soil. You deserve to thrive in an environment that supports you.

Dear Eleanor,

It seems silly to saddle yourself with guilt for something that hasn’t happened yet. I don’t want to do that. As of today, I don’t really feel guilty. I guess I just want to make sure I keep doing more, so that when you read this, and ask what I’ve done since then, I can still feel good about my efforts.

Dear Child,

Hope we get to have that snowball fight I always dreamed we’d have.

Dear Oliver,

I am getting your father on board too so that we can double charge this together.

AMORI MIEI EMMA DOMINGA E MAMMA AURELIE

Mamma e Papà cercano insieme sempre di darti il meglio però anche tu dovrai fare la tua parte nel mondo.
