Dory, my love

It’s 2017 now and you will be almost my age now when you read this. You know my fears for the future. I hope we have managed to avert David King’s ‘catastrophic’ climate change – and all the other pitfalls we have set ourselves up for – nuclear leaks, biodiversity loss, resource depletion etc. All I can say is that I tried – I have been giving the talks for a year now. My generation can only offer its apologies – how have we stayed so ignorant for so long? Too many answers to that. I hope you too can say that you have done your best to leave this planet in a better state than you found it – I’m sure you will. I hope I am there in 2050 to read this with you but if not, always know how much you were loved.

Your mum – Nikki XXX

More Messages to the Future

To my Kids,

I wish you all the best and always make sure that you can be proud of yourself and don’t need status-symbols for feeling nice.

To my dear children in the year 2050,

I don’t wish to go backwards, but I do wish we would slow down and design our brave new world with more care.

Dear Tomorrow,

My climate promise is to use a refillable bottle, bring my own resusable spoon/form wherever I go, use clean personal care products (without chemicals).

Dear Gabriel,

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” – The Lorax

Rachel and Noelle,

I hope in a small way this helps your world.

I promise to plant trees and to turn off the lights.

Dear future Michelle,

As consumers, it is our duty to protest and force companies to be greener and avoid environmental damage, whether they are from the food industry or from any other production industry. It’s about time we start thinking greener.

To the People in my Future Life,

Anytime I’m at the crossroads of life, I pray that I, or anyone else in the same position, will keep you in mind, and try to shape a world that’s the best possible for you.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will encourage everyone to get OUT of their cars and onto public transit.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to live a car-free lifestyle.

Dear Tomorrow,

I will opt up to deep green

Dear future me,

I’m doing this work because I see it as the best way to save and improve as many lives as possible. I’m doing it so you, 2050 Ryan, can look at yourself in the mirror. And so you can tell your kids and grandkids someday that you did everything you could.
