DearTomorrow,

My hope for you all is that you will experience the true beauty of the natural world if we can keep it in place.

Dear Offspring,

At the point your birth, I can only hope that the world will be environmentally safe and stable. My concern is that major coastal cities will be flooded by melted glaciers, which in turn could lead to economic and social displacement problems. As of right now, our CO2 levels are rising, it has been proven that glaciers are melting and the earth is warming. My personal efforts to curb this dastardly trend are minimal and most likely insignificant. I am consciously recycling, using bikes and other non-polluting or more environmentally safe transportation methods. In the time I have before your birth, I will make attempts to raise awareness to our growing predicaments and environmental challenges. My hope for you all is that you will experience the true beauty of the natural world if we can keep it in place. I will, however, make a formal apology as it seems I have neglected to truly be mindful of my carbon footprint. I haven’t traveled the world, but from what I am told we, as humans, at are at a crossroads. We can choose to neglect our Earth and suffer, or we can decide to be environmentally conscious and reap the rewards of a “clean” Earth. My dream for you offspring is that you do not grow up sheltered from the realisms of the suffering environment.

Love From,

Papa
