Dear Future People,

Right now, the United States government, under Donald Trump, is denying climate change. They have even cancelled events in which scientists discuss climate change. All of the students and people working in the environmental field, as well as other concerned citizens, are deeply worried about this issue. It is past the point of preventing, we now have to learn to live with our choices and the Trump Administration has just put us back many years of progress. I hope by the time someone sees this in 2050, this will no longer be an issue and the public, as well as the government, will be on the same side, battling climate change and doing everything we can to stop it. I truly hope this is a transformative time in world history and humanity will be on a better track. However, we have a long way ahead of us and environmentally concerned people, such as myself, are working very hard to make people aware and get this process started because the choices we are making right now are not sustainable for the future.

More Messages to the Future

To our sweet grandson Caleb,

We want a safe and beautiful world for you, little Caleb, and for your children and grandchildren. We promise to do our part.

Dear Eleanor,

It seems silly to saddle yourself with guilt for something that hasn’t happened yet. I don’t want to do that. As of today, I don’t really feel guilty. I guess I just want to make sure I keep doing more, so that when you read this, and ask what I’ve done since then, I can still feel good about my efforts.

To the future generations,

I hope that you all can enjoy the Smokey Mountains in your lifetime too and that they look how they did back in 2017 when I saw them.

Loved One,

That we all have a role to play no matter how small, we all can make a difference.

Dear little one,

In the coming months, we plan to complete a full assessment of our environmental impact online. We hope to discover our biggest areas of resource consumption, learn what we can do better, and create an action plan to improve over the next year.

To my precious children

I want clean air, clean energy and muddy feet for you. I want this for all children.

Dear my future family,

I will promise to help climate change as much as I can.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to use my reusable water bottle more often

Dear Grandchildren,

So here we are. In 2022 millions of people are suffering from the climate catastrophes, killing pollution and pandemic, not mentioning about poverty, gender and social injustice, racism, wars and dictatorships that can go on as long as bad people in power are allowed to grab our natural resources.

To my Kids,

I wish you all the best and always make sure that you can be proud of yourself and don’t need status-symbols for feeling nice.

Dear Future Family,

As I’m sitting here trying to think of the best words to say to you all, I am thinking of one major thing: that I can only hope that you all get to experience the incredible beauty created by our planet.

Dear Tara,

Each of us only has so much power and the problem is HUGE, but I worked at this every day.
