Dear Future Earth,

Dear future earth, how are doing?

I hope your doing a lot better then you are now. I hope human beings see the harm they are causing you and that if they don’t change one day there will no longer be a you. I hope that you are once again filled with beautiful forests, diverse wild life, and clean crisp air.

As of the moment I’m enjoying the time I have with you and exploring all the beauty you have to offer. While writing this letter I’m bobbing to Bruno Mars’s 24K Magic, amazing song really, but not as amazing as you. Corny right?

Now when it comes to writing and expressing my thoughts I’m not the best and you can ask my college profs about that. But I hope you are healthy and happy and providing a safe home for any family members that I have in the future.

I sincerely apologize for all the pain we have caused you in the years that I am writing this. But as a species that has come from you, I hope that we as a species have realized how much we need you to live a healthy life. Well, this is as far as I thought I could write, so imma go now.

Stay Safe, my home.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to eat less meat.

Dear Future,

I will use less plastic.

Dear Lucy,

The clock ticks, time passes, and the earth and all of its inhabitants move closer to dangerous boundaries we can dimly discern but cannot see clearly.

Dear little one,

In the coming months, we plan to complete a full assessment of our environmental impact online. We hope to discover our biggest areas of resource consumption, learn what we can do better, and create an action plan to improve over the next year.

Dear Tomorrow,

I will encourage composting at work.

To future Geof,

Cool, now that your jetpack is put away in your garage where you keep your flying car; how did the aliens save us from our own destruction? Did they have this hyper advance vacuum that just sucks all the greenhouse gases out of our atmosphere?

dear future people (:

I am writing this message to you guys. When I look outside my window today, I see a beautiful world that others and myself call “home sweet home.” The trees glimmering in warm sunlight, the air stirring a cool breeze, and the water flowing down rivers are parts of our home Mother Earth.

Dear Future

My hope is for all who live in your time to still know the joy of swimming in the ocean, walking through the woods, and hiking in the mountains.

Dear Tomorrow,

My climate promise is to use a refillable bottle, bring my own resusable spoon/form wherever I go, use clean personal care products (without chemicals).

Querida Futuro Yo,

Quiero que puedas decirme que lo hemos logrado, y que el mundo hoy es un poquito mejor porque nosotras pusimos de nuestra parte.

Dear Finley,

I wonder if in 2050 we will be looking at a future where fear from the changes at hand has caused people to hate rather than love and provide hope. Perhaps in that world we will we no longer comprehend the biblical texts in a meaningful way. Will climate change be the end of the epoch of God?

I want to tell you a story. Yes, another one.

Mankind has always been able to deal with the greatest challenges it’s faced and this will not be the exception. My message to you is: find that passion and give it your all. ‘Till your legs give out.
